This individual must demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with 2D and 3D engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Utilize a range of hand tools, power tools, and machine shop equipment including lathes, grinders, drill presses, and manual Bridgeport mills
- Measure, align, and secure components using precise measurement tools and calculations to ensure accuracy and functionality
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to complete projects on time and within budget
- Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the workplace
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company standards
- Interpret technical specifications and follow detailed instructions to ensure correct fabrication and assembly
- Prepare materials for secondary processes including finishing, heat treatment, and deburring
- Monitor and communicate job progress, identifying and addressing potential issues in collaboration with team members and leadership
- Balance multiple priorities and deadlines with guidance from supervisors and project leads
- Exhibit a positive, solutions-focused attitude with a commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Take initiative in problem-solving and continuously seek opportunities for process improvement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in mechanical assembly or a related field is preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience in assembly or fabrication
- Must be willing to travel
- Ability to read and interpret complex parts and assembly drawings with intermediate proficiency
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with digital documentation systems
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Physically capable of bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces as needed
- Able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds safely and consistently
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
